All for the Love of a Girl 


強尼哈頓 （Johnny Horton）令人喜歡的歌很多
除了先前貼過的《低語的松林》，
這一支“All for the Love of a Girl ”也很叫人懷念。

強尼哈頓生于1925年，他最擅長演唱民謠說歷史的歌，
1959年他唱的“The Battle of New Orleans”，
即是描述1815年英軍攻打紐奧良城的故事。
這支歌在美國鄉村歌曲榜升到第一名自然不在話下，
但是在流行歌曲榜也奪冠就不簡單了。
而“All for the Love of a Girl ”
正是這張唱片的 B 面，
不知道當年買唱片的人喜歡的到底是哪個歌。

1960年，才35嵗的強尼哈頓正在事業高峰，
卻在一場演奏會後回家的路上，被酒後駕車的醉鬼撞車身亡，
結束他短而多姿的生命。
